About Josefa
Background
Josefa studied drawing and painting at the Peter Zeiler School of Art in Munich. After she immigrated to Canada she met her mentor, the renowned artist Kathryn Jacobi, who took her on as her private student and helped discover her technique and unique style.

Artist Statement
“I’m fascinated by the shapes that exist in nature. When the sun shines through trees or hits water, it fragments into a myriad of colourful rectangles, circles, rounds, triangles, dots and squares. I use those shapes in my work to create a kaleidoscopic view of realism, where the line between reality and abstraction changes with the blink of an eye.”
